OTC reviews small business COVID-19 relief

The county board of commissioners, on Jan. 5, heard from County Community Development Director Amy Baldwin who said Otter Tail County has received $1.25 million from the Minnesota State Legislature. The funds are designed for small business relief in the wake of COVID-19.
The CDC is currently taking applications from businesses and non-profit organizations from around Otter Tail County.
People can obtain applications by calling the Community Development Agency (CDA) office at 218-998-8050.
At the same meeting on Jan. 5, County Deputy Administrator Nick Leonard provided a brief update regarding assistance to food and beverage establishments in Otter Tail County.
Emergency operations

Otter Tail County Emergency Operations Director Patrick Waletzko told county commissioners on Jan. 5 that the emergency declaration related to COVID-19 continues for the time being.
The initial declaration was issued on March 17, 2020.
Waletzko told commissioners that his office will continue to provide personal protective equipment throughout Otter Tail County.
He also addressed the issue of mental health concerns during COVID-19, something also conveyed by county public health employees.
