New York Mills may have had its five game winning streak snapped on Friday, but that wasn’t before pushing the one loss Menahga Braves to the brink of defeat on Friday night.

The Eagles fell 48-39 to the Braves (who are 5-1 on the season) in Menahga’s second closest game of the season. The only other game that was within double digits was the Braves’ 53-47 loss to Henning one week earlier. The past two games are the only games within 20 points the high powered Braves team has played all season long.

In addition to their loss to Menahga, the Eagles defeated Wadena-Deer Creek in commanding fashion by a score of 56-32.

This week the 5-3 Eagles, who are 4-2 in the conference, will travel to Pillager on Thursday in another Park Region Conference game. The Huskies are 5-3 on the season and are 4-2 in the conference. Pillager is averaging 55.1 points per game on offense, while giving up 46.3 points per game on defense.

NY Mills on the other hand is averaging 57.5 points per game on offense, while giving up just 39.5 points per game on defense.

In addition to Olson, Cydnie Polman and Moriah Gieser each scored 8 points, while Megan Riedel and Bella Bauck scored 7 points and Anna Meech and Ayla Olson rounded out the scoring with 2 points apiece.
