Sheriff deputies reported injuries in a two-vehicle traffic accident northeast of Bluffton, at 4:42 p.m. on March 22. The accident took place in eastern Otter Tail County at the intersection of Highways 144 and 75.

One vehicle ended up in the ditch, according to sheriff deputies. There were no further details.

Fire destroys 

greenhouse

A heated greenhouse caught fire and was destroyed mid-morning on March 23. Two other greenhouses sustained fire damage.

The location of the fire was near Highway 145 on the west side of Otter Tail Lake. Cause of the fire and value estimates were not immediately known.

ATV complaints heard

Sheriff deputies, on March 19, received complaints of damaged ditches and approaches from Vergas, northward to the Becker County line.

Tracks from ATVs have been investigated by sheriff deputies. Most ATV traffic takes place in the afternoon. Extra patrols from sheriff deputies have been requested by Vergas area property owners.

Permit to carry,

purchase applications

Several handgun carry permits and handgun purchase permits were issued March 19 by the county sheriff’s office.

Handgun carry permits were issued for three residents of Ottertail, three who live in Perham and for two residents of Parkers Prairie.

Handgun purchase permits were issued, one each, for residents of Vining, Henning, Richville, Dalton, Fergus Falls and Deer Creek.
