New York Mills School District students could get out of school before Memorial Day next year—provided the district doesn’t use up all of its snow days.

During its regularly scheduled meeting last Monday night, the NY Mills School Board approved its 2021-22 school calendar. The calendar shows that students will start school on Sept. 7, or the Tuesday after Labor Day, and end on Friday, May 27. That day will be the Friday before Memorial Day.

The final day of school will depend upon any snow days the district utilizes throughout the school year. There are currently three snow days built into the calendar, one each in December, February and April.

Graduation will be held on Friday, May 27 and there are six early out days built into the calendar. There will be 173 student contact days next year.
