The New York Mills speech team had a successful past week of competition at the section meet. Joshua Anderson placed fourth and is a first alternate to the state competition, while John Ronning placed third and advanced to state. Jane Gudmundson placed second at the section meet and has also advanced to state. Speech team members competing at the section meet included: Zeke Aho, Jane Gudmundson, John Ronning and Joshua Anderson.
