The New York Mills girls took third and the boys placed fourth at the Sam Kelderman Memorial Invite on Thursday. 

Bella Bauck led the charge for the Eagles as she took first place in the 1600-meter run with a time of 6:02. She also captured first place in the triple jump with a jump of 32’ 9 1/2” and finished in second place in the long jump with a jump of 14’11 1/4”. 

Ashley Kassa had a pair of top four finishes as she took second place in the 100-meter dash and fourth place in the 200-meter dash. In the 400-meter dash Katherin Garcia took third place.

On the boys side of things, Daunte Leiran finished in second place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.73. He just narrowly missed out of first place as Quintin Laveau took first place with a time of 11.68. 

In the shot put, Leiran edged teammate Nolan Cassidy for first place as Leiran finished with a throw of 41’ 1 3/4”. Cassidy finished in second place with a throw of 36’ 7” to edge Koby Endres of Wadena-Deer Creek by just 1 inch for second place.

As a team, Wadena-Deer Creek took first place on both the girls and boys side of the track with 242 and 196 points respectively. Pillager finished in second place for both the boys and girls.
