OTC hosts 73rd annual Governor’s Fishing Opener

Emma Bushinger, a student at Wadena-Deer Creek School, performed the National Anthem during the 2021 Governor’s Fishing opening ceremony on Saturday morning. The event was held on the shores of Otter Tail Lake, near Beach Bums in rural Ottertail. While Governor Tim Walz was in Ottertail briefly Friday and went fishing Saturday morning, he did not attend the opening ceremony or any of the events held in honor of the Governor’s Fishing Opener on Saturday. Instead, he returned to St. Paul, Minn. to continue the legislative session.
