The city of Deer Creek will come alive on Saturday for the annual Deer Trails Day celebration. 

After being canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the day will get underway bright and early with the Smokin’ Hot 5k and 10k run at 8 a.m. Registration will begin at 7 a.m. 

Following the run, the Methodist quilt and bake sale will begin and the Deer Trails Day Parade will roll through the streets of downtown Deer Creek beginning at 11 a.m. Once the parade has been completed the food booths, Morning Glories flower show and pie sale will begin.

There won’t be a shortage of things going on beginning at 12 p.m. as the guess the pennies game at the museum, medallion hunt clues at the community center, face painting, photo booth, bounce houses, petting zoo and open house at the fire department will all get underway. Bingo at the community center will be held from 12-2:30 p.m. and the live music near the community center will also begin at 12 p.m.

At 1 p.m. the horse drawn wagon rides by Lester Bain will take guests on a scenic tour of Deer Creek, while the youth bean bag tournament will get underway at 2 p.m. 

The afternoon will feature more live music from 2-6 p.m. by AC Entertainment, a bike raffle at 4:30 p.m., magic show by The Magic Guy at 5 p.m. and adult bean bag tournament at 6 p.m.

The night will come to a close with a street dance featuring Bob and the Beachcombers from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
