Sheriff deputies reported two traffic accidents with injuries on Thursday, July 15. One accident took place near the northwest side of Otter Tail Lake and the other accident took place northwest of Perham.

The accident near Otter Tail Lake took place at 12:51 p.m. near Sheldon’s Car Care.

Deputies said the driver likely fell asleep on a curve along the roadway. The vehicle left the roadway, jumped the approach to Highway 145 and went airborne. The vehicle rolled before coming to a stop.

The driver, whose identity was not immediately available,  received moderate injuries and was taken to an area hospital.

Deputies said the other accident, northwest of Perham, took place at 7:15 p.m. on July 15. The location was the intersection of Highways 10 and 60. Two vehicles were involved.

A Dodge Durango was eastbound on Highway 10 and a Toyota Celica was west bound. The Dodge crossed Highway 10 at Otter Tail County Road 60 and was struck by the Toyota.

Three people received non-life-threatening injuries.

Injured in the Dodge Durango were the driver, Nicole Marie Cannon, 31, of Perham, and a passenger, Joshua William Wendt, 42, of New York Mills.

The third injury was the driver of the Toyota Celica, 45-year-old Luz Berena Hernandez Perez of Pharr, Texas. She was taken to the hospital in Perham as were the two individuals who were in the Dodge Durango.

The Minnesota State Patrol assisted sheriff deputies at the accident northwest of Perham.
