The New York Mills Class of 1961 held their reunion at Finn Creek on August 28, 2021, with 20 classmates present. The group enjoyed a wonderful meal, shared their bucket lists and school memories. One fond memory was of Jesse Owens being their commencement speaker. His speech was entitled, “Youth in a Space Age World.” Jesse Owens won four gold medals in track in the 1936 Olympics.
