The skies of Ottertail will come alive on Saturday as the annual OtterDazzle celebration kicks off in town.

The event will kick off bright and early with the Ottertail Lions pancake breakfast from 7-11 a.m., while the vendor and craft show will give area residents the opportunity to purchase a unique item for Christmas from several local vendors. The craft fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Hot food and beverages will be served from 12-3 p.m., while hay rack rides will be given throughout the downtown Ottertail area from 1-3 p.m.

Always a highlight of OtterDazzle is the kids crafts and games, as well as the holiday bucket raffles that will begin at 2 p.m. Children will also have the opportunity to create a unique cookie with a bucket full of frosting and sprinkles at the cookie decorating station from 2-5 p.m.

Of course no OtterDazzle celebration will be complete without a visit from Santa Claus. The big guy in red will be stopping by the community center from 2:30-4:30 p.m. to gather Christmas wish lists and visiting with local children.

The tree lighting ceremony will be held at 5:15 p.m. in the Ottertail city park and the festive day will light up the skies with one of the largest winter fireworks shows in the region following the tree lighting ceremony. The fireworks will be set off near the water tower in Ottertail.

The day will come to a conclusion with a free will chili bar at the Ottertail Community Center beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Deer Creek Santa Day

The annual Santa Day celebration in Deer Creek will be held on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event will be held at the community center and feature horse-drawn sleigh rides with Lester Bain through the heart of Deer Creek.

When local children get back to the community center from their sleigh rides they will have a chance to warm up with a cup of hot chocolate and some cookies that will be served throughout Santa Day.

No Santa Day will be complete without a visit from the big guy in red who will be at the community center gathering Christmas wish lists from local children from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
