The Deer Creek City Council breezed through an abbreviated agenda on Monday night at the Deer Creek Community Center.

During its regularly scheduled meeting, the council received several donations from the Deer Creek Lions Club for everything from the 2022 Deer Trails Day celebration, support for the fire department and for repairs at the community center. The money for the donations were raised from the sale of pull tabs.

The donations were for $2,000 apiece for Deer Trails Day and the fire department, as well as $4,400 to be put towards repairs at the Deer Creek Community Center.

The council also received an update in its packet concerning the condemnation of 107 Clark St. The city attorney has been contacted as an appraisal is needed on the property. Then a petition will need to be filed with the county to allow for a 60-day period for the owner to oppose the condemnation. Otter Tail County has reportedly filed a notice of Expiration of Redemption and Pemberton Law wants the property valuation to be completed.

City clerk/treasurer Tom Parish said in the council packet that he gave Pemberton Law the green light to proceed with the property valuation.
