Icy roadways lead to several accidents

Four vehicles left the roadways in Otter Tail County Feb. 8 due to icy conditions. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
One accident took place on Highway 75, north of 470th Street, in Paddock Township in the extreme northeast section of Otter Tail County. Another accident took place on Highway 13, north of Perham.
A third accident took place on Highway 78, north of Ottertail city. The final accident took place at the intersection of Highways 80 and 10, near Perham.
Theft reported
Sheriff deputies, on Feb. 8, reported the theft of several items from a house located near 290th Street in Otter Tail County.
Former renters allegedly took items from a dwelling that belonged to the property owner. Among the items stolen was approximately $1,300 worth of carpet.

Sheriff deputies, on Feb. 6, reported the theft of various items from a vehicle that had been left in the ditch close to North Clitherall Lake Road.
The vehicle had been left in the ditch overnight after the driver lost control of the vehicle and entered the ditch. He was transported home by another vehicle.
Taken from the vehicle were a Hummingbird Helix Fish Graph, an i-Phone, tow rope and ice fishing rod and reel. The estimated value of the stolen items, according to sheriff deputies, was estimated at close to $1,100.
There were no suspects as of Monday morning, Feb. 7.
Assault reported
A resident who lives in Dent reported an assault close to 3:15 a.m. on Feb. 5.
Sheriff deputies reported that two men were, earlier, drinking together at a nearby establishment. One man went to his nearby shop and the was assaulted by the man he had been drinking with earlier.
The shop owner said he threw the other man out of the shop and the accused assailant left on a blue Yamaha snowmobile. The snowmobile was eventually left at a friend’s house and the assailant could not be located.
Sheriff deputies were later in the process of tracking down the accused assailant, obtaining statements from both individuals and compiling evidence.
Two roadway injuries
southwest of Perham
Sheriff deputies, on Feb. 9, reported two minor injuries in a traffic accident southwest of Perham. That’s where two vehicles collided at the intersection of Highways 108 and 125.
Involved were drivers of a Chevrolet pickup truck and a waste management refuse truck. Both vehicles were heavily damaged and were towed from the scene of the accident.
