Sheriff deputies, on Feb. 20, reported fire damage at the Swedberg Nursery, a family-owned landscape business, near Battle Lake.
Two green houses were on fire when first responders arrived. The cause of the fire was malfunctions of a gas furnace and/or electrical panel.
As of Feb. 22 the total extent of the damages was still unknown.
The Battle Lake Fire Department was assisted at the scene, close to 2:09 p.m., by firefighters from Henning, Vining, Underwood and Ashby.
Injuries reported in area accidents
Roadway accidents with injuries were reported in Otter Tail County on Feb. 18.
The first accident involving two vehicles took place at 11:55 a.m. at the intersection of County Road 82 and North Swan Lake Road near Fergus Falls.
One driver sustained whiplash and a concussion.
The second accident on Feb. 18 took place at 1:44 p.m. at the intersection of Highways 6 and 29 near Parkers Prairie. This also was a two-vehicle crash, with minor injuries reported.
Hunter sustains gunshot wound
A county resident hunting coyotes suffered a gunshot wound to his knee on Feb. 19 near the intersection of Highways 76 and 19, north of Bluffton in eastern Otter Tail County.
He was taken to Tri-County Healthcare in Wadena.
Four Dewalt drills were taken from a work vehicle south of Parkers Prairie, near Buds Barn Road on Feb. 19 or Feb. 20.
Law enforcement personnel took photos of shoe and tire impressions. Sheriff deputies added there was a possible suspect vehicle.
