Isaac Kawlewski and Aiden Meech were awarded their overall champion plaques for the 6-8th grade division of the Heart Of the Lakes High School Fishing League on April 13. The event was held at the Fergus Falls High School Auditorium. The pair couldn’t have done it without the help of their volunteer boat captain Terry Weller. Tom Huvnh was the featured speaker at the annual spring event. He has been placing very high at several of the pro walleye tournament series events by placing among the top fishermen over the past two years. He shared insight on presentation, boat control, electronics, and bait selection to put more walleyes in our student anglers boats. This year’s NY Mills High School fishing team has 30 registered team members and over 15 boat captains to make sure the student anglers can get out on the water.
