Goeson takes fourth place in two events in Pillager

Aidyn Baune captured first place in the long jump and Jada Goeson finished in fourth place in a pair of events at the John Reimer Classic in Pillager on Thursday. 

Baune captured first place in the long jump with a jump of 15’3”, to win the event by 1 inch over Madison Packer of Wadena-Deer Creek, who finished with a jump of 15’2”. 

A freshman, Goeson took fourth place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:33.51, as well as fourth place in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:55.97, which was less-than a half second in front of Lindy Cordes of Pillager. 

In the high jump, Irene Mursu and Goeson tied for fourth place with a jump of 4’3” and the 4×100-meter relay team of Mursu, Baune, Ashley Kassa and Katherin Garcia took sixth place in a competitive 4×100-meter relay with a time of 57.77. 

This week the Eagles will compete at the Wadena-Deer Creek meet on Thursday.
