Ethan Hendrickx got a hit and an RBI in a pair of wins for New York Mills last week.

The New York Mills Millers improved to 7-1 with a pair of wins last weekend. The Millers opened the weekend with a 9-1 win over Deer Creek, before edging Perham by a score of 3-1.

This weekend the Millers will host Verndale on Saturday, as well as Sebeka on Sunday afternoon.

Bluffton will travel to Vergas on Saturday, before hosting Staples on Sunday.

Deer Creek will travel to Wolf Lake on Saturday in their lone action of the weekend. 

Friday

NY Mills improved to 6-1 with a 9-1 win over Deer Creek on Friday night. The Millers broke the game open with a 3-run top of the fourth inning, thanks to an RBI single by Drey Roberts, a Deer Creek error and sacrafice fly by Ethan Hendrickx.

After scoring a run in the top of the sixth inning to take a 4-0 lead, the Millers were able to give themselves some breathing room in the top of the ninth inning as they added 5 more runs to their score. 

The Shockers scored their lone run of the game in the bttom of the ninth inning.

The Millers were led offensviely by Caden Rorbets, Maison Roberts, Tyler Patron and Adam Patron who all had a pair of hits in the win.

Caden Roberts picked up the win on the mound as he pitched all 9 innings and gave up just 5 hits and no earned runs in the game.

Saturday

NY Mills outhit Perham 10-6, but both teams combined to score just 4 runs in a pitcher’s dual on Saturday night. Fortunately, the Millers were able to come away with a 3-1 win.

NY Mills got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the second inning when Ethan Hendrickx hit an RBI single to bring Drey Roberts around to score. 

One inning later, Derin Gaudette hit an RBI double to bring Caden Roberts across the plate to make the game 2-0. 

After Perham cut the Millers’ lead to 2-1 in the top of the sixth inning, Adam Patron gave NY Mills some breathing room thanks to an RBI single to make the score 3-1 in the bottom half of the inning.

Neither team would be able to score another run for the remainder of the game to give the Millers their seventh win of the season. 

Austin Maneval picked up the win on the mound after he went 6 innings and gave up just 6 hits and 1 earned run. He also struck out 8 batters. Gaudette pitched the final 3 innings and struck out 6 hitters.
