The county sheriff office reminds county residents to stay alert to possible scam attempts. Some residents continue to become victims, losing money in the process.

One county resident, on Aug. 29, lost $824 during an attempt to purchase a dog online.

County residents are reminded to never give out personal information or continue to talk to a person when things don’t seem right. As an example, if a seller on the phone wants you to complete a transaction with purchase of a gift card, realize that this is a scam attempt.
