Jada Goeson took first place at the Pillager Invite on Thursday night.

Last Thursday the New York Mills cross country team traveled to Pillager and came home with some improved times, as well numerous top ten finishes.

In the varsity girls’ race, Jada Goeson won the race, well ahead of the second-place finisher. Girls also placing well for NY Mills were Brielle Malone in sixth place and Katherine Garcia in eighth place.

In the boys’ race, Simon Synder was the top Eagle runner and the NY Mills boys placed second as a team.

“Our runners had a good day in Pillager as everyone who raced there last year improved their times notably and we had some runners place well with Jada finishing first.  Our team’s hard work is definitely paying off,” said head coach Greg Esala.

This week the Eagles will run in Pelican Rapids on Thursday afternoon.
