The VFW Post 3289 Auxiliary Meeting was held on September 8 with 16 members and 1 guest present.

Minutes from the August 11 meeting were approved, and the August 31 Treasurer’s Report was filed subject to audit.

  A thank you card was received from Someplace Safe.

  Members volunteered at the Corn Feed and Finn Creek in August.

  The Newsletter was distributed to members in person at the meeting and by mail to others.

  The annual rummage sale was scheduled for September 16-18 and donations from the community will be accepted September 14-15.  Publicity included email, Faceboook and an ad in the newspaper. Proceeds from the sale will be used to support Youth and Community Programs.

  National POW/MIA Recognition Day will be observed September 16 with a Missing Man table at the VFW and a display at the rummage sale.

  The Membership Dinner will be Sunday, Oct. 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Auxiliary members will help prepare for and clean up after the dinner.

  Cancer Aid and Veterans and Family Aid raffle tickets are available. The drawing will be held November 11.

  Other business: Approved a medical grant; approved the order of two color bearer flags;  rescheduled the November meeting to Wednesday, November 9; and draped the Charter for Past Department President Lil LaVoy who passed away recently.

Our next meeting will be on October 13 at 6 p.m.
