On a warm fall day last Tuesday, the New York Mills cross country team took part in the Ashby-Brandon-Evansville meet.

The NY Mills girls took third place as a team with Brielle Malone getting a medal for ninth place.

In the JV boys race, Matteo Pierro won the race picking up the first-place medal.

In the junior high boys’ race, Dawson Seelhammer medaled as he placed 10th in the first race he has run as a part of the Eagles cross country team.  In the varsity boys’ race,  Simon Snyder led the way for the Eagles.

“We had a few runners unable to compete today, but the runners who did stepped it up and ran very well. That is great to see,” said head coach Greg Esala.

The Eagles will run next in Menahga at the Park Region Conference Meet on Tuesday, Oct. 18. Then on October 28, they will travel to Bagley for the Section 8A meet.
