Three swimmers captured first place at the Mid State Conference championship on Thursday night.

Taylor Ziemke took first place in a fast-paced 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.35. She was just .43 seconds in front of Addison Lauwagie of Park Rapids. 

The Yellowjackets also swept the diving competition as Brittney Lorentz took first place with a score of 405.95, while Avery McAllister finished in second place with a score of 370.10. 

The 200-yard medley relay team of Elle McDonald, Katelyn Kratzke, Lucy Schultz and Taylor Ziemke took second place with a time of 2:07.59. 

McDonald finished in second place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:09.72. She was just .51 seconds behind Amelia Bagstad of Park Rapids who took first place with a time of 1:09.21. 

As a team the Yellowjackets took third place with 293 points, while Park Rapids captured first place with 523 points and Detroit Lakes took second with 389 points.
