A donation box for soldier care packages has been set up at Mills Lanes and Lucky Strike Grill in New York Mills. Donations will be accepted through Monday, Dec. 5.

Military personnel serving overseas that have ties to the community, VFW Post 3289 or Auxiliary will once again be receiving a soldier care package this Christmas to show love and support for them. 

A drop off for donations has been set up at Mills Lucky Strike Lanes.

Care package ideas that are appreciated by service members are: sunblock, socks, lip balm, shampoo, deodorant (med. bottles), beef jerky, trail mix, granola bars, cookies, candy, single serving drink mixes, microwave foods, playing cards, puzzle books, notes of support.

Community and members are welcome to join VFW Auxiliary members assemble the care packages on Monday, Dec. 5 at 1 p.m. at Mills Lanes. For any questions, call Karen Brasel at (218) 298-2214.
