Two felony cases are summarized below related to county court proceedings at the county courthouse in Fergus Falls. The courthouse is located just south of downtown Fergus Falls.

• Wayne Blake Meland, 44, of Erhard, was convicted Jan. 3, 2023, related to a felony charge of Fifth Degree Drug Possession. Jail time of one year at the state facility in St. Cloud will be averted if he remains law abiding for five years and follows rules of his probationary agent. He was ordered to complete a chemical assessment and follow recommendations of the evaluation. Local confinement is 30 days and he can take part in the work release program if he follows the jailer’s rules.

• Heather Leah Morris, 40, of Henning, received a Stay of Imposition on Jan. 3, 2023, related to a felony conviction for Receiving Stolen Property, Motor Vehicle. Under a Stay of Imposition, a person will have his or her felony conviction reduced to a misdemeanor if the person stays law abiding during a probationary period. The probationary period for Morris is five years. Her restitution totals $2,487.
