The snowstorm from Monday evening, April 3, through Wednesday morning, April 5, resulted in several roadway accidents and injuries in Otter Tail County.

One accident, on Highway 8 near Perham, resulted in an injury at 11:37 a.m. on April 4. This was a single-vehicle crash when the driver lost control due to slush on the roadway and entered the ditch. 

Seatbelts were worn and minor injuries were reported to three individuals near Perham.

The second accident with injuries was reported at 3:55 p.m. April 4 on Interstate 94 in southwestern Otter Tail County. An east-bound semi caught snow and went off the roadway, landing on its right side in the ditch.

Assisting sheriff deputies were members of the Minnesota State Highway Patrol. Also responding to the scene of the accident were Ringdahl Ambulance of Fergus Falls and Rothsay Fire and Rescue.

Northern Minnesota experienced storm conditions usually seen in January and February. In some areas storm warnings remained in effect until 7 a.m. on Thursday, April 6.
