With just a month to go before the sub section meet, the New York Mills track team is posting personal and season bests at nearly every meet. 

This past week the Eagles competed at the United North Central on Tuesday, before traveling to the Wadena-Deer Creek meet on Thursday. 

This week the Eagles will compete at the Section 6A True Team meet in Pelican Rapids in their lone meet of the week. 

Tuesday

Brielle Malone took first place in the 3200-meter run and Alayna Baune took second place in the triple jump at the United North Central Invite in Sebeka on Tuesday night. Malone captured first place with a time of 13:40.68, while Baune set a new personal best mark in the triple jump with a jump of 32’8”. 

Aidyn Baune took fourth place in the 400-meter dash with a season best time of 1:08.08, while Alexis Rudolph took fifth place in the discus with a throw of 76’5” and the 4×400-meter relay team of Katherin Garcia, Alayna Baune, Dixie Dykhoff and Macy Koljonen posted a season best time of 4:43.07. 

The Eagles posted eight other personal bests at the UNC meet including: Gage Brasel in the 200-meter dash with a time of 29.62 and the long jump with a jump of 16’0”, Payton Lausten in the 200-meter dash with a time of 31.02, Julie Seim in the 200-meter dash with a time of 32.90, Rylie Pederson in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:33.01, Josi Mindermann in the shot put with a throw of 26’1”, Carl Peterman in the shot put with a throw of 27’9”, Ella Holmes in the long jump with a jump of 10’7 1/2” and Royce Lorentz in the long jump with a jump of 13’8”.

The Eagles also posted four season best times at the UNC meet including: Elijah Geiser in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:22.39, the 4×100-meter relay team of Zaidie Trigueros, Julie Seim, Hazel Dykhoff  and Alexis Rudolph with a time of 1:03.98, the 4×100-meter relay team of Gage Brasel, Justin Kassa, Royce Lorentz, Cole Wilson with a time of 53.16 and the 4×200-meter relay team of Elijah Geiser, Justin Kassa, Royce Lorentz and Cole Wilson with a time of 1:50.72.

Thursday

Alayna Baune posted a personal best for the second time in the week and captured first place at the Wadena-Deer Creek Invite on Thursday night. Baune jumped 33’2 1/4” to finish in first place. She also took sixth place in the long jump as the Eagles finished in sixth place as a team with 32 points. A total of nine teams competed in the meet.

Brielle Malone took third place in the 1600-meter run with a time of 6:13, while the 4×400-meter relay team of Baune, Malone, Dixie Dykhoff and Macy Koljonen also took third place with a time of 4:46. 

Katherin Garcia posted a personal record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:06.24 to finish in fourth place, while Koljonen placed fourth with a personal best in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:38. Garcia also posted a personal best in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.89 to finish in sixth place.

On the boys side, Elijah Geiser posted a personal record in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:21. He finished the race in fifth place.

In addition to the top six finishes, nine Eagles posted personal record last week including Zaidie Trigueros in the 100-meter dash with a time of 15.81 and the 200-meter dash with a time of 33.28, Payton Lausten in the 100-meter dash with a time of 14.35 and 200-meter dash with a time of 29.34, Ella Holmes in the shot put with a throw of 17’11”, Cole Wilson i the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.59 and 200-meter dash with a time of 25.56, Justin Kassa in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.68 and Carl Peterman in the shot put with a throw of 28’10”.
