Seven proved to be the New York Mills track team’s lucky number at the sub section meet on Thursday. Seven athletes qualified for the section meet, while the team set seven personal bests and seven season best times. 

For the second time in just over a week, Jada Goeson broke the school record in the 800-meter run as she posted a new personal best and school record in the event with a time of 2:21.73. She placed first in the event. 

The 4×200-meter relay team of Aidyn Baune, Payton Lausten, Alayna Baune and Katherin Garcia posted a season best time of 1:52.63 to place second and Garcia took sixth place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.96.

Also qualifying for sections were Brielle Malone in the 3200-meter run with a personal best time of 13:13.46, Payton Lausten in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 51.70, Aidyn Baune in the triple jump with a season best of 33’2 1/2”, Alayna Baune in the triple jump with a jump of 31’9 1/4” and Elijah Geiser in the 1600-meter run with a personal best of 5:20.76.

Also setting a personal best at the meet, but not advancing to sections, was Morgyn O’Dea in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:09.38, Carl Peterman in the discus with a throw of 77’7” and the shot put with a throw of 32’5” and Josie Mindermann in the discus with a throw of 79’8”.

Eagles who set a season best time, but did not advance to sections were Jeron Witt 3200-meter run with a time of 15:19.71, the 4×100-meter relay team of Lausten, Zaidie Trigueros, Julie Seim and Alexis Rudolph with a time of 57.57, the 4×100-meter relay team of Justin Kassa, Gage Brasel, Royce Lorentz and Cole Wilson with a time of 51.59, the 4×800-meter relay team of Malone, Morgyn O’Dea, Dixie Dykhoff and Macy Koljonen with a time of 11:04.99 and Rudolph in the shot put with a throw of 27’1”.
