The VFW Post 3289 Auxiliary met May 11 with 14 members present.

Minutes from the April 13 meeting were approved, and the April 30 Treasurer’s Report was filed subject to audit.

The General Orders Bulletin for May 2023 from the Department President was read and discussed.  Thank you letters were received from the New York Mills High School Trap Team and the New York Mills High School Close Up Program.

The Auxiliary received the following awards at the Loyalty Day/District 9 Convention on April 29 in New York Mills: 1st Place Legislative, 1st Place Historian, Certificate for Outstanding use of Media for Americanism Programs, Good Job Awards for Membership, Scholarships and Mentoring for Leadership programs and goals of the VFW Auxiliary, and participation in the Buddy Poppy & VFW National Home Program.

The Veterans Quilters Group made 20 quilts for distribution to residents at the Fergus Falls and other Veterans Homes.

In other business:

• Approved payment of bills.

• Approved a donation to the VFW National Home Library Fund.

• Discussed plans for Memorial Day activities on May 29.

• Several Auxiliary members plan to attend the Auxiliary Training and State Convention in Plymouth, Minn. June 8-11.

• Our Auxiliary will provide breakfast on June 11 for the RMH Ride.

• Certified Delegates for the National Convention in July.

• Draped the Charter for 3289 Auxiliary Member Doris Jeanne Vik and Past Department President Cindy Tews who passed away in April.

  Due to the June convention, our Auxiliary meeting was changed to Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 6 p.m.
