Color run, turtle races to highlight new events

The Phelps Mill Festival is gearing up for its 39th annual celebreation from July 8-9. The event is held annually on the second full weekend of July at Phelps Mill Park near Underwood. 

Phelps Mill Festival features two full days of art, food, entertainment and kids’ activities plus craft wine and beer tasting. Those who attend the event will have the opportunity to listen to top-notch entertainment, shopping a wide variety of artist booths; sampling craft beer and wine (Saturday from 1-5 p.m.) and eating at any number of food booths.

Several new events are being planned this year and include: 

• Color Me 5K/1K Family Fun Run at 8 a.m., Sunday morning.  Early registration online by June 20 at www.phelpsmillfestival.com.

• Turtle Races for the kids!  Sunday from 12-3 p.m., run by the Lakes Area Community Center.

• Hands-On Ceramics – Join Blayze Buseth and crew from the Creation Shop of Fergus Falls to participate in some hands-on activities on both days.

• Community Art Table printmaking activity run by Kaddatz Gallery – both days.
