The New York Mills fishing teams got their season off to a rousing start on June 15 as four teams placed in the top eight overall. Fishing took place on Lake Lida. 

Neveah Cavalier and Kaci Steinbach took third place overall, while Brylee Kusick finished in sixth place. The boat of Aiden Meech and Caroline Schwantes took seventh place and the boat of Cass Ament and Wyatt Helmbrecht finished in eighth place overall. 

The next event is scheduled for Thursday, June 29 on Rush Lake. The NY Mills team will be the host team that evening and are looking for volunteers to help with valet parking and setting up and serving food after the fihsing. Anyone who would be interested in helping with the event on Thursday should contact a member of the NY Mills fihisng team.
