The VFW Post 3289 Auxiliary met June 15 with 15 members present.

There was one application for new membership.

Minutes from the May 11 meeting were approved, and the May 31 Treasurer’s Report was filed subject to audit.

The General Orders Bulletin for June 2023 from the Department President was read and discussed.

The Auxiliary received the following awards at the Minnesota State Convention:  1st Place Award and a plaque from the State VFW for Buddy Poppy Display in Public Promotion category, Certificate of Merit District 9 Membership for 2022-2023, 2nd Place Award in Poppy Promotion, Legislative #1 Entry (Barb Puckett) and Legislative Best Job Award, Extension and Revitalization Award, Certificate for Valentines/Craft/Sewing Projects, Mention in Year-End Program Book for District 9 Historian/Media Relations.

Committee Chairs gave an update on programs.  The Fergus Falls Veterans Home will celebrate its 25th Anniversary on June 24.  Members of the Auxiliary will participate in the Stars and Stripes Parade before the anniversary program.

The Heinola Hustlers 4-H put out flags at area cemeteries for Memorial Day to honor 563 Veterans and Auxiliary members.

Auxiliary Mentoring for Leadership Chair Kathy Rosenthal presented five Auxiliary members with a Good Job Award for 2022-2023.

President Shirley Quist presented Karen Brasel with a 45-year pin for her service to Veterans and the Auxiliary.

In other business

• Approved payment of bills.

• The RMH Ride breakfast went well.

• Discussed plans to participate in the local parade on July 7.

• Approved purchase of flags for Auxiliary Prayer Services.

• Approved a Medical Family Aid grant.

• Draped the Charter for Past National President Helen Harsh who passed away in May.
