The New York Mills Millers fell to 9-3 overall with a 4-3 loss to the Bluffton Braves in the annual fireworks game on July 1.

Bluffton broke a scoreless tie in the top of the third inning when Redemske led off the inning with a solo home run. The game remained that way until the top of the sixth inning when Davis hit an RBI triple to bring Kyle Dykhoff across the plate to make the score 2-0 in favor of the Braves.

The Millers answered with a run of their own on the bottom of the sixth inning when Caden Roberts scored on a wild pitch.

NY Mills took a 3-2 lead in the bottom half of the seventh inning when Dashaun Robinson scored on a Derin Gaudette fielder’s choice and Jonah Johnson scored on a Caden Roberts two out RBI single.

The Braves took the lead for good in dramatic fashion in the top of the ninth inning when Tom Tellers hit a two out 2-run double to give Bluffton a 4-3 lead. The dramatic inning started with the opening two hitters of the inning being retired in order, before Redemske and Isaac Haman hitting back-to-back singles with two outs.

The Millers went down in order in the bottom of the ninth inning to end the game by a score of 4-3.
