Man arrested following Perham area homicide

The Otter Tail County Sheriff Office, on July 18, released the name of a rural Perham man arrested in connection with the death of a woman on July 17 at Big Pine Lake, east of Perham.
Formal charges were expected to be filed against Paul Edward Mart, 79, related to the death of Jean Harriette Mart, 77. The suspect was taken to the county jail in Fergus Falls.
Sheriff deputies were called to Big Pine Lake at 10:36 a.m. July 17, following a report that a man had killed a woman. Multiple agencies responded, including the Otter Tail County SWAT Team.
Authorities found a female deceased and a man was arrested. The names were initially not released to the general public.
The formal charges were expected to be filed in county court, Fergus Falls.
