The New York Mills VFW color guard stood at attention along Highway 10 on Saturday morning as the late Fargo Police Officer Jake Wallin passed through town. Wallin was killed in the line of duty on Friday, July 14. A small group of vehicles and two buses escorted Wallin from Fargo enroute to Wallins funeral in Pequot Lakes. In addition to the color guard several hundred people gathered at intersections at various spots along Highway 10 in New York Mills on Saturday morning to pay their final respects to the fallen officer.
