The New York Mills Regional Cultural Center’s 2023 Fall Concert Series kicks off on Thursday, Sept. 14 with a concert by PK Mayo Trio at 7:30 p.m. in the Cultural Center’s intimate visual arts gallery space.

The PK Mayo Acoustic Trio features PK Mayo on guitar and vocals, Steve Lehto on guitar and mandolin, and John Wright on bass.

Three decades musician PK Mayo (Paul K. Mayasich) holds his rightful place in both the Minnesota Blues Hall of Fame and the Minnesota Rock and Country Hall of Fame. He is a noted guitarist both on the acoustic and electric slide, having been inspired at an early age by Duane Allman’s solo on “Statesboro Blues.” That inspiration has carried him to stages worldwide as he continues to gig at a rate of 200 plus shows a year.

John Wright has a long-standing dedication to traditional music and incorporates influences from many musical styles into his work, including blues, fusion, pop Latin, and rock. Steve Lehto’s impressive versatility and range on the guitar is matched only by the emotion he puts into playing.

Don’t miss the chance to see this award-winning trio live in NY Mills.

Adult tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door (members get a $2 discount); students $5. Individuals can buy advance tickets online at www.kulcher.networkforgood.com/events/61960-pk-mayo-trio-concert or by calling 385-3339. Tickets will also be available at the door.

Doors open at 7 p.m. and the concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be available.

This activity is made possible in part by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board operating support grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
