The Perham/New York Mills tennis teams went 2-0 with a pair of 5-2 wins over Moorhead and Crosby-Ironton last week. 

This week the tennis team will host Parkers Prairie on Tuesday night, as well as Detroit Lakes on Thursday night. Both games are scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m. 

Tuesday

The Perham/NY Mills Yellowjackets came away with a 5-2 win over the Moorhead Spuds on Tuesday night. 

The Yellowjackets went 3-1 in singles matches with Kaia Anderson, Violet Radniecki and Autumn Branchaud picking up straight set wins. The lone loss in singles came at second singles when Alayna Moe dropped a heartbreaker in the third set by a score of 11-9. 

In doubles, the Yellowjackets were able to come away with straight set wins at first and third doubles to secure the 5-2 win.

Thursday

Perham/NY Mills swept the doubles matches and secured wins at third and fourth singles to come away with a 5-2 win over Crosby-Ironton on Thursday night. 

Violet Radniecki got things going for the Yellowjackets at third singles with a 6-1, 6-1 win, while Autumn Branchaud secured an important win at fourth singles with a 6-2, 5-7, 10-7 win to give Perham/NY Mills a pair of wins in the singles matches.

At first doubles the duo of Morgan Smith and Aubry Zimmerman were nearly perfect as they secured a 6-1, 6-0 at first doubles. 

Not to be outdone, Grace Wangler and Samantha Pederson blanked their opponent in a straight set 6-0, 6-0 win at second doubles, while Reese Hunt and Lucy Wallgren secured a 6-0, 6-1 win at third doubles to ice the win for the Yellowjackets. In all, the Perham/NY Mills doubles teams went 36-2 in games on Thursday night.
