The Perham/New York Mills swim team defeated the Fosston/Bagley/Crookston Seals on Thursday night. The JV swimmers won every meet, while the Yellowjacket varsity team won all of the relays.

Head coach Courtney Skarie said the JV girls had some amazing time drops across the board as they were able to get back in the pool last week.

In their first meet of the season, the seventh graders made their presence felt for the Yellowjackets as Elsie Janke competed in the JV 200-individual medley and varsity 100-butterfly, while Aubree Sonnenberg and Lily Bakken both competed in the JV 50 and 100-freestyle.

Eighth grader Madison Kratzke finished in third place in the varsity 200-individual medley and in second place in the varsity 100-breaststroke.

The freshmen also had some amazing swims as Megan Galbrecht competed in the 200-freestyle and finished in second place in the 500-freestyle, while Jaelyn Rodewald competed in the 200-individual medley and out touched Lillian Nelson from Fosston in a close finish to take first place. She also captured first place in the 100-butterfly.
