The New York Mills Eagles cross country team competed in the Heart of the Valley Golf Course in Ada and ran very well last Thursday.

A number of Eagles had personal records at the meet. For the Eagles, Katherin Garcia was the first Eagle girl to finish with a time of 22:24 and Elijah Geiser was the first guy to finish with a time of 19:23. Garcia, Geiser, Jeron Witt, and Morgyn O’Dea all had times notably better than last year in Ada.

Maggy Weller had her best time for a 5K race and Dawson Seelhammer finished with a good time in the JH race finishing 28th out of 81 runners.

After the meet Coach Greg Esala said, “it’s exciting to see all of our runners improving each week. They work hard in practice and that is paying off.”

The Eagles will next run at Madden’s West Golf Course on Thursday, Sept. 21 in the meet hosted by Pillager.
