NYM Lions lend a hand to fight hunger

New York Mills Lions Club members who attended the District 5M9 Pack to End Hunger event included: Brent Helmeke, Taylor Ericksrud, Dave Rud, Duane Koehler, Julie Roberts, Eric Hammond, Greg Esala, Adele Esala, Adeline Doyle, Karissa Doyle, Dave Gilster, Larry Witt, Rich Ericksrud and Jerry Kokoschke.
The New York Mills Lions Club sent 14 people to help with the District 5M9 Pack to End Hunger event at the Nisswa Lions Community Center on Saturday, Sept. 9.
The local Lions helped to pack 5 lb. food item meal boxes for those in need of food assistance. The group brought back a total of 81 boxes, or 405 lbs. of food to NY Mills from the event. A total of 41 boxes were donated to the NY Mills Area Food Shelf and another 40 boxes were donated to the NY Mills Backpack for Hunger Program.
