Elijah Geiser once again had a solid race to lead the charge for the Eagles at Madden’s golf course.

Last Thursday the New York Mills Eagles cross country team ran in the heat on a very hilly course held on the Madden’s West Golf Course.

Dawson Seelhammer races across the finish line during a recent cross country meet in Ada.

In the junior high girls’ race Maggy Weller took seventh place and in the junior high boys’ contest Dawson Seelhammer placed fifth.

When it came to the varsity races, for the girls Katherin Garcia placed fifth and Morgyn O’Dea took 12th place, while in the boys’ division Elijah Geiser was the first Eagle to finish with a sixth place, Josh Anderson took 25th and Jeron Witt 29th.

After the meet, Coach Esala said,”it was great to see the effort our runners put in today! They did very well, especially considering the many steep hills on the course.”

The Eagles will be busy this week as they run in the Bertha-Hewitt race on Tuesday and the Pelican Rapids meet on Thursday.
