After a busy stretch of games leading up to last week, the Perham/New York Mills tennis team had a bit of a light week in competition last week. The Yellowjackets traveled down Highway 10 to take on the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines on Thursday night and came away with a 5-2 win. 

The Yellowjackets swept the single matches with Violet Radniecki coming away with a 6-3, 6-0 win at third singles and Autumn Branchaud coming away with a 6-1, 6-1 at fourth singles. Kaia Anderson also won in straight sets at first singles with a score of 6-2, 7-5. 

Alayna Moe won a tough match at second singles in three sets 1-6, 7-6, 10-6 to come away with the 2-1 win.

The Yellowjackets also came away with a win at third doubles with Reese Hunt and Andie Janke securing a 6-0, 6-4 win. 

This week the Yellowjackets will travel to East Grand Forks on Tuesday night, before getting ready for the sub section tournament next week.
