Perham/NYM school record set by Fischer in 2019

Brittney Lorentz broke a 2005 pool record and a 2019 school record on her way to a first place finish in diving on Thursday night. The previous school record of 262.5 was set by Dena Fischer in 2019, which Lorentz broke by over 5 points. Lorentz finished with a score of 267.8, while Avery McAllister and Kacie Riepe set personnel records in diving with 224.85 and 108.2 respectively. 

In addition to diving, Taylor Ziemke captured first place in the 50-yard freestyle as she out-touched Melena Longtin of Morris/Minnewaska by just .01 seconds to take the top spot with a time of 25.50. 

In the 100-yard backstroke, Elle McDonald took the top spot with a time of 1:09.31.

“Overall really pumped about the progress we’re seeing. Hoping to keep this moving over the next couple weeks as we head into our big competition season,” said head coach Courtney Skarie.

As a team the Yellowjackets fell to the Morris/Minnewaska Gators by a score of 103-83.
