The New York Mills Eagles cross country team was busy this past week as they ran in two meets, Tuesday in Brandon and Thursday in Perham.

From the Brandon meet taking home medals were Katherin Garcia who took seventh place in the girls’ varsity race and Elijah Geiser who placed ninth in the boys’ varsity race.  Every NY Mills runner had either their best race time of the year or their best race time ever at this meet. These runners were: Jeron Witt, Josh Anderson, Elijah Geiser, Dawson Seelhammer, Katherin Garcia, Morgyn O’Dea, Maggy Weller and Hank Anderson. 

The Eagles cross country team ran Thursday in the large Perham meet which had hundreds of competitors. Jada Goeson was the first varsity girl to finish and Elijah Geiser was the first boy.  Morgyn O’Dea, Elijah Geiser, Katherin Garcia and Maggy Weller all cut down their times notably from last years’ race.

This week the Eagles traveled to Wadena on Monday for the Park Region Conference Meet and they are now preparing for the Section 8A meet on Friday, Oct. 27 in Bagley.
