Tools, other items stolen north of Vergas

Sheriff deputies, on Oct. 6, reported the theft of tools and other items at a home under construction at Camp Cherith Road, north of Vergas.
Among the items taken were Milwaukee power tools, an 18-volt hack saw, 18-volt hex driver, Milwaukee chop saw, 18-volt dual charger, stapler, hammer drills, oscillator and carpenter pouches.
Deputies said the combined value of the stolen items is estimated at close to $5,000.
Fire destroys shed
On Oct. 6 fire destroyed a shed along with vehicles and a boat inside, northeast of Underwood. The call came into authorities close to 9 p.m.
The loss included a pickup, boat and 4-wheelers. The state fire marshal has begun an investigation as to the cause of the fire.
