New York Mills’ eighth grade science and social classes of Ms. Mithun and Mr. Grieger traveled to Detroit Lakes on Wednesday, Oct. 25. The science classes toured Sucker Creek Preserve learning about plants, organisms water and geological formations. The social studies class visited the Becker County Museum and attended a traveling exhibit featuring Leonardo da Vinci. They viewed the recreated masterpiece artwork of the Renaissance man as well as many of the inventions he dreamed up in his thousands of pages of notebooks. Another highlight was the upper floor of the museum where the students got to play in the science center with music, engineering and design. The class also utilized the bikes with help from Mr. Rimpala.
