The New York Mills School Community Serving Classrooms Community Carnival is set for Friday, Nov. 17 from 4-7 p.m. The night will include a variety of carnival-style games in the gym.

“We’re excited about the upcoming carnival,” said Hailey Windels, Community Supporting Classrooms (CSC) Committee member and first grade teacher. “Last year’s carnival raised over $12,000 to donate back to elementary classrooms, high school student council, high school teams and clubs, new Eagle shirts to all incoming kindergarteners, and an author/speaker visit to the elementary.”

The carnival doors will open at 4 p.m. for children and adults of all ages. A variety of 20 games and two inflatables are available for the price of a few tickets, available at the door or pre-sale on Nov. 9 parent-teacher conferences. Clueless The Balloon Twister & Friends will be returning to share her balloon entertainment with everyone.

With each game, winners are able to earn prize tokens, which can be spent at the prize table. A wide variety of prizes are available for increments of token punches.

A silent auction will also take place starting at 4 p.m. and ending at 6:45 p.m. Baskets from elementary classrooms, businesses and organizations around the area fill tables in the Sports Center with themes that everyone will enjoy.

“We love the creativity of students and teachers, and we greatly appreciate the generous donations from families, teachers, and community members,” said Windels. “We hope to see you at the carnival.”

Supper served by the NY Mills Business Professionals of America will be available as well as candy and popcorn at the concession stand. In the case of inclement weather, the carnival will be postponed until Monday, Nov. 20 from 4-7 p.m. Volunteers and donations are graciously accepted until the time of the event.

“At this year’s carnival, there are new prizes and new silent auction items,” said Windels. “Be sure to come check it all out.”
