The New York Mills junior high knowledge bowl team recently competed in their second event. NY Mills had three junior high teams compete against Perham, Alexandria, Osakis and Lake Park-Audubon. After the written round, NY Mills’ highest place team was New York Mills Nutmeg in seventh place. This team bounced around throughout the four oral rounds of  competition making it all the way to fourth place, but then faltered and finished in eighth place. NY Mills Nickel moved up a few places from their start so the team will count that as a win for the seventh grade gentleman. Garrett U said, “There were Star wars questions, literature questions, and even one on James Bond. It was a fun day of quiz bowl.” NY Mills Neon was awarded for the most correct math questions on the day they received a certificate for their accomplishment. Shauna G lamented, “I was joking with my teammates, saying that we did well at Math Masters before and we would win the math award. And then we did.” Several were dressed up in Halloween attire and a few even were awarded by LCSC for creative costumes.
