Veterans Day program set for Wednesday morning at New York Mills School

The annual Veterans Day program will be held on Wednesday at the New York Mills School auditorium. The event will feature a number of activities like the Patriot’s Pen and Voice of Democracy winners, as well as a variety of guest speakers and guests. Last year several veterans receives a Quilt of Valor during the program.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3289 and its auxiliary will be hosting a Veterans Day program at the New York Mills School on Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Students in preschool through fifth grade will enjoy their own program to learn about the meaning of Veterans Day. The public is invited to join the sixth through 12th grade students at the 10 a.m. program.

The program is intended to honor and remember area veterans. Student essays will be read, including the Patriot’s Pen and Voice of Democracy submissions.

Band and choir selections will accompany the program and essay awards will presented.
