One injured in auto-deer accident

Sheriff deputies, on Nov. 4, reported that three teenage duck hunters were recused after their boat capsized at Rush Lake, north of the town of Ottertail.

The three hunters were able to climb on top of the boat, and after being rescued, experienced only mild hypothermia. One of the hunters called 911 at 6:37 a.m.

Assisting sheriff deputies were members of the Ottertail Fire Department, Ottertail Rescue Squad, Perham Fire Department and Perham EMS. The boat and most of its contents were later recovered and removed from the lake.

Three injured in traffic accident

Three people were injured in a two-vehicle traffic accident Nov. 3 at 2:10 p.m. close to the Otter Tail/Grant County line. 

Receiving non-life-threatening injuries were Natalie Rund-Rieppel, 46, of Fergus Falls; Jean Rund, 85, of Fergus Falls and Colton Lindquist, 20, of Ashby. Two of the victims were taken to the hospital in Elbow Lake.

The crash was investigated by the Otter Tail County Sheriff Office. The location was 295th Avenue and 100th Street, southeast of Dalton.

One injured in auto-deer accident

The driver of a Suburban sustained a minor injury after striking a deer at 4:12 p.m. Nov. 3 near the intersection of Highway 15 and 190th Street, southwest of Fergus Falls.

Sheriff deputies said the driver swerved to avoid the deer, entered a ditch and landed upside down in the vehicle.
