A young entrepreneur in the New York Mills area is striving to deliver sparkling clean spaces for all varieties of cleaning jobs. Suzanna Sneeden, age 17, recently started Luminescence Cleaning in July to capitalize on her skills in the industry that claims a lot of business in the lakes area.

Sneeden, a senior at Wadena-Deer Creek High School, first started cleaning when she was just 12 years old. Through the help of friends, she was offered an opportunity to clean cabins at a resort, her first paying job.

“I always looked forward to the day I could earn my own money,” said Sneeden. “I thought, cool, people will pay me to clean. I have always enjoyed cleaning and the feeling of a clean space. As I got older, I realized I love business too.”

Cleaning stuck with Sneeden over the past five years through her time working as a professional cleaner for a property management company. There, she learned to clean a variety of businesses, homes and rental units. Various cleaning tricks and tips were learned along the way.

Luminescence Cleaning offers a variety of services including basic cleaning, deep cleaning, move ins/outs, post construction cleanings, and Airbnb cleaning. Sneeden is always looking for new clientele and enjoys working with new customers.

“My favorite part about my business is meeting new people and helping them to the best of my abilities,” said Sneeden. “I strive to leave every place I clean a brighter space.”

An average day for Sneeden includes preparing supplies for her cleans, working on filing and taxes, brainstorming new ideas for business outreach, as well as the many cleaning jobs she partakes in.

“I am also in my senior year of high school,” she said. “I do online PSEO classes, so I still have to make time in my day for that as well.”

Looking to the future, Sneeden said that she would like to continue growing and learning.

“I really enjoy learning the different aspects of business,” she said. “I hope to eventually expand and hire employees and build a team of professional cleaners to provide excellent cleaning services in the area.”
